To us, reconciliation starts by acknowledging the past and actively educating ourselves and students about the injustices that have occurred since colonisation and the ongoing impacts on First Nations peoples of Australia, recognising the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the face of these injustices.
We strive to create an inclusive and culturally rich learning environment where all members of the school community learn about, and from, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, committing to a path towards reconciliation. Working on reconciliation within our school means building meaningful relationships with First Nations Elders and community leaders and educating all staff, teachers, families and the wider community about the First Peoples of Australia’s histories and cultures.
A reconciled Australia is one where everyone recognises and respects First Nations peoples as the First Peoples of Australia, acknowledging and teaching about Australia's true histories.
