At Explore & Develop Lilyfield, our vision for reconciliation is for all to recognise, respect and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives. Each day we intentionally build awareness, responsiveness and understanding for First Nations peoples and reconciliation.
We acknowledge and respect the Wangal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and work. We recognise that this Land was, is, and always will be Aboriginal Land. We also acknowledge and respect the Land, animals, plants, water and air that sustain and teach us. We will continue to forge and deepen connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, stiving for children to become informed citizens who confront bias and challenge inequalities and inequities. We will support children, and each other, to understand the importance of truth-telling about Australia's histories and we actively acknowledge past injustices and the ongoing impacts of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and peoples today.
Connecting with our community is a key element of our RAP. We envision supporting, and working in partnership with, the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and local organisations so that we truly embed the principles of reconciliation into the wider community
