VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Parkwood Early Childhood, we envision a future where reconciliation is lived every day through respectful relationships, inclusive practices, and a deep appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people histories, cultures, and contributions.

We are committed to creating a culturally safe and welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, staff, and community members feel respected, valued, and heard. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nations Custodians of this Land and honour their continuing connection to land, waters, culture, and community.

Our vision for reconciliation is grounded in learning, truth-telling, and shared responsibility. We strive to embed age-appropriate, respectful learning opportunities that help children develop a sense of belonging, empathy, and understanding of Australias shared history, while celebrating the world's oldest continuing cultures.

Through ongoing reflection, collaboration, and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we aim to strengthen relationships, challenge bias, and contribute to a more just and equitable future.

Reconciliation at Parkwood Early Childhood is an ongoing journey one that supports children to grow into compassionate, informed, and respectful citizens.
