At Caring 4 Kids Kindergarten Riverview Street, we take great pride in reconciliation and the part that we can play in making a change. We want to close the gap between non-Indigenous children and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children for all to benefit from high education and care as well as be provided continuous learning opportunities while in an inclusive education and care setting.
It is in our hands to provide the education to the younger generation to acknowledge and respect the diverse cultures, customs, histories and circumstances of Indigenous Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our commitment to working towards reconciliation within our service is integrated through the intentional teaching and embedded practices we have created within our service. Efforts made within the early childhood education sector should acknowledge, respect and integrate Indigenous cultures, perspectives and histories while addressing the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and children.
The goal in our early childhood is to create inclusive and culturally safe environments that promote reconciliation and foster positive relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous families and communities. We are committed to upholding the responsibility of teaching the younger generation the importance of collaborating with families, community members and Cultural Elders to celebrate and understand the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We strongly believe that through our practices and teaching with the children that we are able to create a future that is inclusive and supportive of everyone all while recognising the history.
