VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to foster a learning community where the cultures, true histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged, deeply respected, and authentically embedded in a culturally safe and equitable environment. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-indigenous Australian children, families, and educators feel a strong sense of belonging.   As an early learning service, we acknowledge the powerful role we play in shaping the values and worldviews of young children. We believe that reconciliation begins in the early years by nurturing empathy, cultural awareness, and respect for  First Nations peoples. By respectfully and thoughtfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives into our educational programs, practices, and present and emerging relationships, we aim to contribute to  a shared future that is grounded in truth, equity, and unity.   Our commitment to reconciliation is built on honesty, self-reflection, and a genuine willingness to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge the injustices of the past and commit to ongoing action that promote healing, inclusion, and cultural safety.  We strive to build strong,  respectful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples  and communities and to ensure thevoices, knowledge, and leadership are valued across all aspects of the centre.  Through this vision, we aim to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous children to grow with pride in their self-identity, respect for diversity, and a deep understanding of their role in shaping a more just, inclusive, and reconciled Australia.
