VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Pebble Patch, our vision is to foster childrens understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and challenge biases that can impact on childrens future attitudes towards cultural diversity. We believe all educators have the potential to make a significant and positive difference everyday. Reconciliation is everyones business, every day, and we are working to embed this into our day to day practice.   We aim to be proactive where we live, work and socialise to keep up the momentum for positive change. Mayfield as a company aims to encompass and include all cultures and beliefs within our community, including our Indigenous cultures. We aim to ensure that everyone is welcome and feels a sense of comfort and belonging within our environment. Article 14 of the United Nations Rights of Indigenous Peoples states: Indigenous children, particularly children, have the right to all levels and forms of education of the State without discrimination. We aim to provide this, as well as continue to reflect upon and embrace all cultures and beliefs within our learning environments, without prejudice, to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging, being & becoming, as well as learns to embrace unique cultures within our setting. Indigenous peoples have the right to stablish and control their education systems and institutions providing education in their own languages, in a manner appropriate to their cultural methods of teaching and learning. Article 14, Education, United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People.
