Our vision for reconciliation at York OSHC is for all young people, educators and families to acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, and cultures.
We aim to support educators, young people and families to deepen their knowledge about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures and contribute to our nation’s reconciliation journey. We acknowledge the true histories of Australia and the ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations peoples.
We are committed to actively acknowledging and respecting the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and will continue to support young people to be advocates in our nation’s reconciliation journey. We aim for young people to grow up with a connection to, and understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, languages and histories.
