VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Grandma Rosie’s Childcare Centre, we remain committed to reconciliation and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across our curriculum. We strive to deepen connections with the local First Nations community and deepen cultural learnings through excursions, community engagement, and connecting to Country.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land, the Dharawal people, and respect all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Reconciliation is an ongoing journey of learning, listening, and growth. We will collaborate closely with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, leaders, and families to provide meaningful opportunities for children and educators. We continue to provide professional development opportunities for educators to build and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories, integrating First Nations peoples’ perspectives into their teaching.

We will ensure First Nations children and families’ perspectives are heard and respected, fostering an inclusive environment. We continue to create and maintain a nurturing environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are represented and reconciliation is integrated into the lives of all children, educators, and families, fostering trust, and respect.
