At Milestones Early Learning Tarneit, we acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritages, cultural histories, and traditions. Our vision for reconciliation is for respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader Australian community with justice and equity for all. We will build and renew deeper partnerships and engagements with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, families, and individuals, learning from each other as we work to build a more equitable and socially just nation.
We believe that early childhood is a celebration of learning, honouring the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures within a welcoming and inclusive environment where all families feel a sense of belonging to the service. We aim to provide educational programs for children to learn about, and show respect for, the Traditional Owners and Elders of the Land on which our service is built.
We seek to provide equal learning opportunities for children, working together to ensure that our educational programs foster respect for First Nations peoples and cultures within the local communities and providing children, families, and educators a better understanding of the histories and peoples of this Country. We strive to build our knowledge about First Nations peoples’ perspectives, embedding our learnings in our curriculums as we build more knowledgeable current and future generations.
