VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At SHEL, we envision an Australia where relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples are grounded in equality, equity, dignity, and mutual respect. We hope to see a nation where our shared history is acknowledged, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures are fully valued, and where healing can take place. We strive for the restoration of broken relationships and the removal of social and systemic inequalities. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) sets out tangible, meaningful actions that will guide SHEL on our journey toward reconciliation - both within our organisation and in the communities we serve. We are committed to being aspirational and innovative in our approach, with a strong focus on: Building and strengthening respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples Actively engaging staff and stakeholders in reconciliation efforts Creating initiatives that foster cultural responsiveness among children, educators, and families Through our RAP, we are dedicated to empowering our staff to take meaningful, informed action toward reconciliation every day.
