At Nowra Anglican College Peak Sports and Learning, we envision a future of reconciliation across Australia, where all people embrace unity between First Nations peoples and other Australians. We are committed to promoting reconciliation within our programs, including before school care, after school care, and vacation care. Our approach involves respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our center and daily activities. This includes physical representations of culture, daily Acknowledgements of Country, building strong and respectful relationships with local Elders and First Nations organizations, fostering a deep appreciation for the Land and Country, and incorporating activities and discussions focused on reconciliation.
Our educators are committed to ongoing learning and personal growth, modeling acceptance and understanding, and inspiring children to be culturally inclusive and respectful. We aim to challenge and eliminate racism within our center by promoting diversity and reconciliation through both intentional programming and spontaneous learning opportunities that highlight Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
