VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Gardenia Early Learning Deception Bay, we are committed to advancing reconciliation and building a future grounded in respect, equity, equality and unity. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, play, and grow, and we pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present.

Our vision for reconciliation is one in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and contributions are respectfully recognised, understood, and celebrated as an integral part of our national identity. We are dedicated to fostering a culturally safe and inclusive environment where all children, families, and staff feel valued and supported.

As an early learning service, we recognise the powerful role we play in shaping the hearts and minds of young children. We strive to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our curriculum and practices, ensuring that all children develop a deep sense of respect, belonging, and connection to Country.

We are committed to building authentic partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, Elders, and community members. By working together, we aim to create a learning community that promotes truth-telling, acknowledges past injustices, and supports the wellbeing and cultural identity of all.

Through sustained reflection, education, and action, Gardenia Early Learning Deception Bay seeks to contribute meaningfully to a reconciled Australia—one that nurtures the voices of children, values cultural diversity, and strengthens community connections for generations to come.
