VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to continue to connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' and create opportunities for Wadawurrung Elders and Traditional Owners to engage in our service and provide opportunities for truth telling. Having strong involvement in reconciliation within our service allows our team to be educated and confident to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' perspectives within their programs and to support reflecting on personal, professional and generational bias towards First Nation Peoples.  Understanding and acknowledging the true histories of Australia including the ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations peoples and the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures is vital to reconciliation.   Aiming for a culturally responsive program allows children and educators to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories, culture and heritages, which allows us all to contribute to  our reconciliation journey.
