At C&K Kirwan Community Kindergarten, we are committed to building strong, respectful, and ongoing relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We recognise that reconciliation is a continuous journey, and we are dedicated to fostering trust, understanding, and mutual respect through meaningful engagement and partnerships.
We believe that reconciliation is essential to our Kindergarten’s identity and that children are capable, competent citizens who benefit from rich learning experiences that centre First Nations peoples’ knowledges, histories, and cultures. Educators embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our play spaces, resources, and pedagogies in ways that are respectful, thoughtful, and collaborative.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan will remain a living document, guiding our everyday practices and reflections. Educators will be supported with ongoing professional learning and will work alongside our Curriculum Advisors, local community members, and families to ensure the use of culturally responsive language, resources, and pedagogies. Through this commitment, we aim to cultivate a learning environment that is inclusive, respectful, and informed by the voices and strengths of Australia's First Nations peoples.
