At The Nature School, we are committed to the ongoing journey of reconciliation. Guided by our three core values of Connect, Protect, and Respect, we acknowledge the past and work together to shape a more inclusive future. We strive to appreciate, celebrate, and promote respect for all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and traditions.
Connect - We commit to the continuous inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our teaching and learning. We build respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, within and beyond our school community. We connect our Indigenous students to their cultural goals through the Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) process and connect all students to Country through our commitment to caring for Country and community.
Protect - We advocate for the rights of all children, including the right of First Nations children to learn about, share, and celebrate their cultures. We protect, learn from, and advocate for Country, recognising its importance in education, culture, and community wellbeing.
Respect - We demonstrate our commitment to reconciliation by acknowledging the past and working towards equitable and equal opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We listen to First Nations voices and create an inclusive future that embraces all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Our school intentionally embeds respect for Indigenous culture into the daily life of our students, teachers, and community.
