Reconciliation is about relationships. It is about establishing connectiveness within communities and building trust and respect with all those who are part of the community. Through this relationship building, we give genuine recognition to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the significant contributions they have made to Australian society both in the past and the present. Through this Reconciliation Action Plan, we continue to raise awareness and knowledge about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures and move towards the future with kindness, understanding, generosity and justice.

Our hope for Holy Cross is that we will embrace the differences of all members of the local community and welcome these diverse qualities with openness and understanding. We are committed to respecting the rights of all people, recognising a shared past and collectively moving towards a shared future in which we are all heard and valued. Our commitment extends to building and nurturing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, local Elders and specifically the Turrbal and Yuggera Peoples. In the words of our school prayer, we will inspire each other to work for a world of peace and justice.
