VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Kinda-Mindi Early Learning Centre (Claymore), we firmly believe in, and are dedicated to, active, respectful, and culturally responsive reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. We believe in equality and equity for all and the rightful recognition of First Nations peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Lands.

We strive to provide a culturally safe and inclusive environment that respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories, and perspectives that is informed by local First Nations Elders and community members. We support educators to implement culturally responsive and anti-bias teaching techniques and practices into our programs, curriculum and service, incorporating First Nations perspectives.

We understand that reconciliation is a long-term process and we are dedicated to continuously evolving our Reconciliation Action Plan to reflect educators, children and families. We work towards a sense of community within the centre and to ensure that all children are empowered to take an active role in the process of reconciliation. We believe that through our efforts, every child will be able to make meaningful contributions to reconciliation in their own way.
