VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision is to see all educators equipped with the knowledge to provide a culturally safe environment through reflection, engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, perspectives, community connections and critical reflection.  At Greenwood Point Cook we will continue to  respectfully embed the acknowledgement of the Traditional Owners of the Land on which we play, learn, and grow, Bunurong and Wadawurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. We strive to create a service and curriculum that is inclusive and respectfully embeds the cultures and perspectives of the peoples of the Kulin Nation.  We seek to build and maintain relationships with local First Nations Elders, leaders, and community.  We value and respect the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and encourage children to acknowledge and observe differences and use these to help build a greater understanding of those around them.  We are inspired by the teachings of the First Peoples of Australia, and we will work together to foster reconciliation, justice, equity, equality and healing.   Greenwood Point Cook is committed to the ongoing journey of educators to support children and the greater community on the importance of coming together to grow and learn about our shared histories as we come together in reconciliation.
