Educators, families and children came together to share what their vision for Reconciliation is, and we discovered that as a community, we are all focused on, and coming from very similar perspectives.
We all have a genuine desire to be authentic, to acknowledge our shared history and the diverse nations and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, while focusing our energy on our local Bundjalung community and people. We want to genuinely approach reconciliation with cultural humility, and form lasting and honest relationships with those we share the land with.
We firmly believe we have so much to learn from what is the longest living culture on the planet and are dedicated to respectfully gathering and sharing this learning with our childcare community and beyond. Our hope is to help the next generation to grow with deeper, heartfelt, and embedded understanding of what came before, and with a clear vision of the world we want moving forward.Â
One where First Nations people can be proud of who they are, where they come from, and that they are represented equally.
