At Lighthouse, our vision for reconciliation is guided by our core values of equality and equity. We believe that every individual deserves respect and dignity. As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we begin our first lessons by teaching children the importance of respecting the Traditional Owners of the Land. We aim to meaningfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, cultures, traditions, and heritages into all aspects of Lighthouse. Our vision for reconciliation is rooted in a genuine desire to foster understanding, respect, and connection between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community. We recognise that reconciliation is not a one-time action, but an ongoing journey toward deeper knowledge, awareness, and truth-telling. Through this, we strive to build a strong, inclusive community, one where shared values, transcend external differences, and where we walk together toward a more respectful, united and reconciled future.
