Kindred Early Education is committed to continuing to acknowledge and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories and traditions by forming and maintaining relationships with First Nations Peoples, in addition to including content related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and contributions.
Reconciliation for us means that we are finding common ground between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people where everyone is empowered to be their true selves. We envision cooperative ways, where the Traditional Custodians are looking for guidance on ways of managing Country and natural and sacred sites that are protected.
Kindred Early Education aims to be a space where everyone is, and feels, respected, safe, and included. We aim to empower all people by building connections and partnerships based on mutual trust and respect to facilitate a culturally safe service. Offering, creating and sharing meaningful reconciliation experiences between families, children, staff and the greater community allows everyone to learn from one another.
We would like to see unbiased education provided for all and understand that we play a vital role in the beginning stages of this. We are committed to reconciliation and understand that whilst it is complex and multi-faceted, it is vital that we are a part of it.
