As a multicultural service many of our learning community are unfamiliar with the importance of our reconciliation journey, so in our journey we will, as a community of educators, families and local stakeholders, learn and grow together to best achieve our reconciliation goals. Â Â Our vision for reconciliation at Kindy Patch Springfield is for all educators to build their confidence in cultural responsiveness so they can support all children and families to understand the histories, cultures and perspectives of the First Peoples of Australia and their ways of knowing. Â Â We will provide children, families and the wider community with meaningful opportunities to deepen their understandings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples history, culture and perspectives through building community connections, creating culturally safe learning environments and reflective practices. Â Â Facilitating this learning will further embed the actions in our RAP across the service and link to individuals and communities along with families to achieve a culturally safe environment. Â Â Â Connecting with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community will be meaningful for all families and children so we can understand and connect and to build a sense of community. Through this experience as a team we want to ensure that the process isn't tokenistic and that the experience is a learning experience and the opportunity to reflect and grow in the space of reconciliation, together. Â Â Â Learning together and growing together fosters equality and equity and provides a culturally safe environment for all children. Â Â Â Â Â Â
