VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to begin a more intentional journey of learning, listening, and meaningful action. As a campus, we are still in the early stages of genuinely embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our practices, curriculum, and community.

We acknowledge that building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories is an ongoing commitment, one that requires us to slow down, reflect, and engage with honesty, openness, and cultural humility.

We are committed to deepening our connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and exploring how we can more meaningfully include First Nations voices, knowledges, and cultures within our Early Childhood learning environment. This includes respectfully engaging with community members, learning on Country where possible, and seeking guidance to ensure our actions are not tokenistic but grounded in truth and relationship.

We also aim to provide opportunities for all staff to develop their cultural understanding and confidence through professional learning, reflection, and collaboration, so that reconciliation is lived through everyday practices.

Together with children and families, we want to grow our knowledge, challenge bias, and foster an environment where the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are heard, valued, and respectfully integrated into the fabric of our campus community.
