VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Little Stars Preschool and Long Day Care, we acknowledge and respect the rich cultural histories, heritages, traditions, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia.

Our vision for reconciliation is a future where the deep connections Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, community, culture, and kinship is honoured and respected. We envision a community where reconciliation lives in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians — a nation strengthened by respectful, authentic, and enduring relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.

We are committed to fostering an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ voices are heard, valued, and respected; where Elders past, present and emerging are deeply respected for their leadership, wisdoms, and knowledges; and where the strength and leadership of emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders is championed within the local community and beyond.

At Little Stars, we strive to provide a culturally safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every child, family, and staff member feels a strong sense of belonging. We endeavour for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to see their cultures and identities reflected proudly within our preschool community. We recognise all children as capable, creative, and powerful contributors to our shared future — the thinkers, creators, and leaders of today and tomorrow.

Through continuous reflection, meaningful action, and authentic partnerships, we are committed to walking together on the journey towards reconciliation.
