At Little Feet Early Learning & Childcare Centre, we believe that reconciliation is about working as a team to continue improving and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of learning, practices and perspectives into our everyday teaching. We are motivated to educate ourselves and the children enrolled within our service about the true histories of Australia, to pay respect, learn from this and the ongoing impacts of these histories on First Nations peoples so we can move together harmoniously. As we continue to meaningfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, practices and teachings into our program, it allows for the children and educators to develop respect for diversity and an understanding of the cultural diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. To move closer towards reconciling, we aim to care for, connect to and respectfully explore and learn more about the country on which we learn and play. We will incorporate and implement the RAP in active and meaningful ways through education, curriculum planning and policies.
