VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised, respected and celebrated as the First Nations peoples of the land known as Australia. We imagine a community where all Australians honour Elders past and present, and value their knowledge, cultures and teachings.     At Castle Hill Funhouse, we acknowledge the deep cultural histories, heritages and diverse identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to creating a learning environment that is culturally safe, inclusive and responsive, where First Nations children, families and community members feel welcome, respected and supported. We work to respectfully embed First Nations peoples perspectives throughout our everyday practice so that reconciliation becomes part of who we are and what we do.   We aim to build strong and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, and to celebrate the richness and diversity of their cultures. We continue to promote a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing across our service.    In developing this vision, we commit to engaging with professional learning resources and to using respectful and inclusive language. We also recognise the importance of ensuring cultural safety for any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who read, review or contribute to our RAP, including those from Reconciliation Australias Narragunnawali team.  Through these commitments, Castle Hill Funhouse hopes to contribute to a reconciled Australia where First Nations children feel strong in their identity, and where truth-telling, respect and genuine relationships guide our shared future.
