VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation at Bacchus Marsh Grammar ELC is to collectively commit to embrace and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories.

We believe the reconciliation process is a learning journey that is undertaken with respect and consciousness which allows for staff, children, and families to build their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives.

We acknowledge that our path to reconciliation for staff to actively seek opportunities to deepen their knowledge and to build their own capacity to be truth tellers in the history of this country. We will show kindness and understanding when facing the discomfort of Truth-Telling and we will have the courage to make change and step forward on the path to reconciliation.

We are committed to embedding reconciliation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our everyday practices and will continue to strive for ways to make this learning authentic for children. We believe that by sharing this journey with children, staff, families and the wider community, we can build our community's capacity to move forward in working as one.
