VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our Empowered FDC Community is committed to honouring the five dimensions of reconciliation by nurturing meaningful, respectful, and enduring relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples. We strive to create a community where equity, respect, and cultural safety are upheld for all. We recognise and celebrate the strength, resilience, and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. By respectfully participating in significant cultural events, acknowledging truth-telling, and embedding these understandings within our pedagogical practices, we create opportunities for our community to learn together, reflect deeply, and walk alongside one another on the journey of reconciliation. Our Early Childhood curriculum within our Family Day Care Services is grounded in culturally responsive practice. We commit to learning from and with local Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, valuing their knowledge systems, perspectives, and leadership. Through these partnerships, we work to foster understanding, promote cultural humility, and contribute to a future where equity and justice are realised. We believe that every child has the right to access high quality early childhood education and care. We prioritise inclusive, culturally safe environments where children and families from all backgrounds feel respected, represented, and supported in their lifelong learning journeys.
