At Arnolds Creek Kindergarten, our vision for reconciliation is to cultivate a culturally responsive learning environment that respects and honours Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to building genuine, trusting relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, as well as fostering respectful connections with the broader community. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our kindergarten stands, and we recognise their enduring connections to Country, culture, and community. We are dedicated to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives, histories, and ways of knowing, being and belonging into our curriculum through the use of authentic resources and inclusive practices. As a community of learners, we actively seek opportunities for meaningful engagement, critical reflection, and professional learning that strengthen our commitment to reconciliation. We will continue to create spaces for dialogue and learning that support positive outcomes for all children and families. We are dedicated to deepening our relationships with local Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and ensuring their voices guide and inform our practice. We believe that weaving the Indigenous story into the fabric of education leads to better knowledge, understanding and outcomes for all The State of Reconciliation in Australia, 2016. Â
