Rainbow Child Care Centre's vision for reconciliation is for everyone, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to feel welcome and have a sense of belonging, striving to be a place where everyone’s ideas are shared and acknowledged. We respect the Boodja (Land) we are on as an important gathering area/site of the Menang people.
Through our continual learning, unlearning, and relearning alongside the local and wider community, we believe we can achieve a sense of belonging. At Rainbow, we will continue to liaise with local Noongar Elders and attend cultural events to build and deepen our relationships in the local Aboriginal community.
We are committed to supporting educators to gain further knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander peoples and cultures, including understanding the true histories of Australia and the ongoing resilience and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will share our knowledge with children and families in our care, providing an environment where all children can develop to their full potential at their own pace and in their own way.Acknowledgement of Country
