VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Goodstart Port Kennedy is committed to reconciliation. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our organisation and envision strong, respectful relationships between our centre, community, and First Nations peoples.   We strive to create inclusive, culturally safe environments where all children and families feel welcomed, valued, and respected. We recognise the vital role early education plays in building a reconciled nation and are dedicated to ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children have equal and equitable access to quality early learning.   Our commitment is to respectfully embed First Nations peoples histories, cultures, and perspectives into everyday practice, working alongside non-Indigenous children, families, educators, and community members to continue deepening their understanding and knowledge. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original storytellers, teachers, and guides of this land, and take pride in creating a strong sense of belonging for First Nations children, families, and employees in our service.   Our vision for reconciliation is a thriving Australia that celebrates the rich and diverse cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Guided by Reconciliation Australias five dimensions, we aim to be a leader the early learning sector bytaking bold, meaningful action on the reconciliation journey.  We are committed to deep listening, engaging with Elders and Knowledge Holders, and strengthening First Nations representation across all roles and leadership. Reconciliation is not just words it is ongoing learning, action, and respect woven into everything we do.
