Our vision for reconciliation is for it to be a part of everyday life. We recognise that the early childhood education setting is an opportunistic place for children to participate in learning about reconciliation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. As the first formal education setting that most of our students are exposed to, we lay the foundation of respect for First Nations peoples and cultures. We provide a respectful and enriching education about the Traditional Owners of the Land on which our service stands, Whadjuk Noongar people of Southern River. We facilitate opportunities for students to learn about local cultures and histories and build respectful and ongoing relationships with the Whadjuk Noongar community.
