At Marangaroo Child Care Centre, our vision for reconciliation is one of active connection and genuine partnerships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and continuous cultural learning. We see a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are not only respected but are deeply embedded in the heart of our centre’s identity, daily practices, and community relationships.
We are committed to creating an environment where First Nations voices are heard, celebrated, and lead the way—guiding us with wisdom, strength, and cultural knowledge. Reconciliation to us means moving beyond symbolic gestures and embracing actions that are authentic, collaborative, and grounded in long-term respect.
In 2025, we continue our journey by:
Strengthening relationships with local Elders and community organisations
Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all areas of our curriculum and environment
Creating culturally safe spaces where all children, families, and staff feel valued and empowered
We acknowledge that reconciliation is ongoing, and we honour the resilience, strength, and continued contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our commitment is to walk alongside our First Nations communities—listening, learning, and acting together to build a more inclusive, respectful and united future for all children in our care, and the generations to come.
