At Goodstart Early Learning Nuriootpa, located in the heart of the Barossa Valley on Kaurna Country in South Australia, we acknowledge Kaurna people as the Traditional Custodians of this Land. The Barossa region is traditionally associated with the Mount Lofty Ranges and surrounding areas of South Australia, with the Peramangk people connected to the southern ranges and the Ngadjuri people to the north. These First Nations peoples maintain an enduring cultural, spiritual, and living connection to Country.  Here at our centre, children, families, and educators are committed to continuously building respectful relationships with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We respectfully continue embedding cultural safety, awareness, and responsiveness into our curriculum,  our everyday practices and community.  We extend our deepest gratitude to the Kaurna, Peramangk, and Ngadjuri peoples for their ongoing custodianship of the Lands on which we live, learn, play and grow. We promise to care of Country by looking after the land, animals, waterways, and community, while paying our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.  We recognise the Kaurna people as the only First Nations group to have native title rights acknowledged over a capital city in Australia  Tarntanya (Adelaide).
