VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Flagstaff Hill Kindergarten, our vision for reconciliation embraces deep learning and genuine relationships. We are committed to fostering meaningful conversations and connections with Aboriginal people, especially the Kaurna community, and to cultivating shared understandings through truth telling, respect, and open dialogue.     Our educators are dedicated to ongoing professional and personal learning, engaging thoughtfully in conversations with families and the community, and modelling openness in asking questions. We strive to help children and families form a strong connection to place by exploring the local history of Flagstaff Hill, learning about the significance of Country, and respecting traditional plant uses and stories.     By embedding the learning and use of Kaurna language, as well as local Kaurna ways of being and caring for Country, we honour the wisdom and heritage of the First Nations peoples. Through collaboration, reflection, and sustained action, we seek to nurture respectful partnerships and a future where every member of our kindergarten community feels empowered to contribute to reconciliation.
