VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Kaurna miyurnte, Kaurna yarta, nqadlu tampinthi

We recognise the Kaurna people as the Native Land Title Owners and protectors of this Land

Our vision for reconciliation at Warradale Community Children’s Centre is the active acknowledgement of the Kaurna People as the Traditional Owners and protectors of this Land.  We recognise their long and rich connections with this Land and understand it is as important today as it was yesterday and will be tomorrow. We commit to ensuring that Kaurna culture is respectfully woven through our program in ways that increase our understanding as we work together towards reconciliation. As a Centre, we acknowledge the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and therefore strive to build an environment that is welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe.

We endeavour to continue to build strong connections with Kaurna people, places and the Country. We strive for positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Elders and non-Indigenous people and for everyone to feel a sense of belonging within our Centre.

We are committed to expanding our knowledge and providing leadership in reconciliation in education. Building and nurturing deeper partnerships and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, families and individuals will enable us to learn from each other as we work to build a more equal, equitable and harmonious environment.
