We believe that our children; the future leaders of this country need to be guided and provided with information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in order to build respectful relationships with First Nations peoples. We believe that part of our role is to promote a curriculum that respectfully incorporates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and perspectives. We will celebrate and recognise the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and welcome their teachings and stories as we continue our education and growth. Through these stories we will learn about the true histories of Australia and the impacts this had on First Nations peoples using age-appropriate experiences. As educators we will role model respect and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures throughout our planning and seek support and partnerships with agencies that will support further growth and education. Through the continued work on the Reconciliation Plan, we will be observant of any opportunities to promote respect and knowledge on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures. We plan to Enrich our environments and utilise our core values - passion, innovation, dedication, compassion, integrity. We will promote, respect, develop and increase our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. Acknowledgement Of Country We would like to acknowledge that the Land we meet on today is the Traditional Lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationships with Country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
