VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Niina Marni,     Goodstart Osborne actively recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nations Peoples of Australia and acknowledges the Kaurna people as Traditional Custodians of the Land our childcare centre is situated on.     We will respectfully build relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, our early learning services, and the wider Australian community. In doing so, we commit to providing our children with the opportunity to learn and develop a personal sense of identity, to be proud of their culture, and to recognise and respectfully embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and heritages as a proud part of our national heritage. As members of local community on Kaurna Land, we aim to provide our children with a deep sense of belonging and respect and we will support this by fostering meaningful relationships and opportunities between our service and local Elders, families and community members.     We will provide a safe, welcoming environment for our families, children and community that respectfully acknowledges Kaurna Traditional Custodians, and all First Nations peoples.  Educators will continue to embed our commitment to respecting and valuing Kaurna people by educating our children to value their knowledge, heritage and rightful place in our nation's history and future.
