VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Earlville Early Education, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in respect, inclusion, and a shared commitment to truth-telling and healing. We envision a future where all Australians embrace and celebrate the richness, strength, and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of this land.

We believe that reconciliation begins in the early years. Through meaningful, age-appropriate teaching and learning, children can begin to understand the true histories of Australia, acknowledge the injustices of the past, and appreciate the strength of cultures that continue today. We believe every child has the right to know about the Land they live and learn on, the Traditional Custodians of that Land, and the diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and languages that shape our nation.

We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our centre’s environment, curriculum, and community connections. We honour the cultural knowledge shared with us and work to build authentic, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and organisations.

Our team acknowledges the importance of ongoing reflection and learning in our reconciliation journey. We strive to create a culturally safe and inclusive space where all voices are valued, where diversity is respected, and where truth and equity guide our actions.

As educators, we know that from little things, big things grow. By nurturing understanding, empathy and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions, we aim to support a reconciled future, one built on unity, trust and mutual respect.
