Reconciliation to us means that everyone feels a sense of belonging when they walk through the doors. We would like all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children to want to come to Mourilyan Kindergarten, know that they have an important place within the community and that they are important to us. We are actively learning more about the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures in conjunction with the local First Nations community.
We strive to share with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples that we are respectfully learning about the local traditions, languages, and stories. Together, as a group of children and teachers, we will take the next steps towards reconciliation by learning together.
