VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to actively respect the Traditional Custodians of the Lands that Goodstart Eimeo is built on, the Yuwi people (Yuwibara people).  We are committed to maintaining respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families within the centre and to work alongside them.We will develop Educators’ children’s and families’ understanding of the true histories since colonisation, so that we can, in turn, respectfully teach about, and take further action towards, reconciliation.

We will continue to create environments where educators and children understand the histories, cultures and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and can connect with reconciliation in education through planning and play. We are committed to connecting and building relationship with the First Nation families and Elders within the community through participating and engaging  with the community. Our vision is that all First Nations families feel supported, welcomed and have a sense of belonging when they enter the doors at Goodstart Eimeo.
