At Goodstart Dundowran our vision is for all children, educators and families to have an understanding and respect for the histories, perspectives and ways of being of the First Peoples of Australia. We envision a space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are respected, understood, and welcomed. Where they can clearly see their culture represented and embedded in the lives of our little learners as well as our big ones. We do acknowledge the harm inflicted on First Nations people and promise to make a commitment to work towards embedding history and culture into our programs for our ghundus (children) as we strive for reconciliation for all. Our vision is to build respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community through connections within our centre environment as we work with educators, children and families to deepen their learning and understandings of First Nations peoples, cultures, histories and connections to Country. We know it always was, and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
