Our Vision at C&K Nambour is to establish and maintain a culturally safe and responsive learning community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples feel safe to engage with the Centre, that they belong and that they, and their cultures, are valued and respected. By embedding truth-telling and listening, we deepen our understandings of the true histories of Australia and nurture an equal and equitable future for all Queenslanders. We acknowledge the responsibility of early childhood education and care to honour children’s agency and will use our commitment to reconciliation to help them become active citizens and evolve their connection to people, places, and community. We will continue to build and maintain respectful relationships, nurture respect and create opportunities to learn from, and work together with, local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community. We will continue to connect with and develop genuine and mutually respectful relationships with the local Gubbi Gubbi community to further enhance community connections as deepen our understanding of First Nations Peoples perspectives and experiences.
