VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples  unique and diverse cultures and hold deep and enduring relationships to Country. We are committed to building and maintaining genuine partnerships with First Nations Peoples, partnerships grounded in mutual trust, respect, and a continued recognition of their rights.   We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures as enduring and as the longest continuous living cultures in the world. We value and respect their cultural knowledge and insights as we work to strengthen connections between Goodstart Moreton Downs and the local First Nations community. Our educators are committed to developing confidence in respectfully embedding First Nations peoples perspectives throughout our curriculum, ongoing staff professional development and participation in community events.   We will continue to work alongside children, families, and educators to deepen our understanding of First Nations peoples culture, histories and perspectives in ways that are age-appropriate, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate. We remain dedicated to supporting our families in understanding the importance of our reconciliation journey, inviting them to walk with us as we learn, unlearn, relearn, and form meaningful connections with reconciliation through shared learning experiences, conversations, and community engagement opportunities.
