VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our Vision for Reconciliation

At Play Early Learning Centre Dalby, we envision a future where the cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples—particularly the Burunggam people, the Traditional Custodians of this Land—are deeply respected, celebrated, and embedded in all aspects of learning and community life.

Reconciliation, for us, means walking together in truth and trust. It is about acknowledging the past, confronting injustice, and committing to meaningful change through education, relationships, and respect. We understand that reconciliation is not a single act but an ongoing journey—one that begins with listening, learning, and acting with heart.

We are motivated by a desire to create a safe and inclusive environment where all children, families, and staff feel a strong sense of belonging and connection to Country. Through our commitment, we aim to nurture a generation of learners who value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges and perspectives, and who grow with empathy, courage, and a shared responsibility to contribute to a fair and united future.

Together with the Burunggam community, we strive to build strong, respectful partnerships that honour the deep cultural wisdom of the First Nations peoples of this Land. Our vision is for reconciliation to be lived each day—in our classrooms, our playgrounds, and in the hearts of our community.
