VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Creative Garden – Centenary Heights, we envision a learning community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories, and perspectives are respectfully embedded, celebrated, acknowledged and lived every day. We strive to create a culturally safe and inclusive environment that honours the rich knowledge, traditions, and contributions of our First Nations peoples.

We are committed to providing all children in our care with opportunities to experience and connect with First Nations culture through art, dance, song, and storytelling. These practices not only enrich our curriculum but foster deep respect and appreciation for the world's oldest continuing cultures.

We acknowledge the importance of truth-telling and will not shy away from uncomfortable conversations. Through honest and age-appropriate teaching of Australia’s histories, we aim to cultivate understanding, empathy, and a shared responsibility for reconciliation.

Guided by the 8 Ways of Learning framework, we continually reflect on and evolve our practices to ensure they are shaped by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices. In doing so, we walk alongside our First Nations community in genuine partnership, learning together to build a future grounded in respect, equity, and unity.
