VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Albert Waterways Childrens Centre, we acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Custodians of the Lands now called Australia. We pay our deepest respects to the Bunjalung people, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our centre is located, and to all Elders past and present. We recognise their enduring connections to Country, culture, and community.

Were committed to creating and maintaining a culturally safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children and families. Our team of educators values the diverse histories, perspectives, and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we aim to reflect this respectfully in our daily practices, learning environments, and relationships.

Building and maintaining strong, genuine partnerships with families is at the heart of what we do. We believe these relationships are key to creating a nurturing and culturally responsive space where children feel secure, seen, and celebrated. As a child safe organisation, we are dedicated to upholding every childs right to feel safe, respected, and connected to their identity.

By listening to, learning from, and walking alongside First Nations families and communities, we deepen our understanding and play an active role in reconciliation not just through words, but through meaningful everyday actions.
