VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Capalaba Almara Street, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and recognise the injustices experienced as a result of colonisation and past government policies. We are committed to reconciliation and to contributing to a more just, equitable and inclusive future for all.     We believe reconciliation is built on strong relationships, mutual respect and meaningful opportunities. We are committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to embedding respect for their cultures, histories and perspectives throughout our learning environment and daily practice.     We value and respect the deep and ongoing connections Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, and acknowledge their custodianship of the lands and waters on which we live, learn and play. We recognise the diversity, resilience and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and honour their enduring contributions to our community.     Through ongoing learning and reflection, we are committed to strengthening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and identities. Together, as educators, families and community members, we take shared responsibility for advancing reconciliation and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where all children and families feel a strong sense of belonging.
