Play and Learn Early Learning Centre Loganholme acknowledges the Yugumbeh people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, and we are committed to reconciliation, we are a vibrant and connected service that welcomes all its members and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and cultures. As we embark on this journey with thelocal and wider communities. We will be respectful to Elder's past, present and emerging and seek a better awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their cultures.
We accept the invitation to embrace the Statement from the Heart, and to be strong, courageous allies in the quest to hear the voices of First Nations Peoples.
We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Peoples have upheld children's rights and fostered teaching and learning on Country for thousands of generations, we are committed to deepening our understanding of the stories, histories, and living traditions of this land, and to share this learning respectfully with children, families, and community.
We aim to achieve this through our commitment to professional learning and seeking to making connections and respectfully gain advice from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples within the community, who choose to share their knowledge, and teach us about their cultural heritages, customs and traditional ways. The centre will look for guidance and collaboration between our Educators and local Elders, families and community members to learn about the crucial impact that we have in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child growing to be inclusive of cultural diversity and to reduce tokenism.
Our vision for reconciliation is to create a culturally safe environment that supports a strong identity and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples cultures.
