Our Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten's vision for reconciliation is to create a place of equity, equality, dignity and respect for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples past, present and future. Developed with our team of educators and the children who learn on Boon Wurrung Land, our commitments include cultural awareness training for all staff and better policies to meaningfully engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We aim to support all children to develop an understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and contributions.
We aim to be a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children and non-Indigenous children and families foster respectful relationships. We are committed to building a service where all children, staff, families and the wider community understand our shared histories and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures throughout Australia. We will promote the cross-cultural awareness and understanding of First Nations peoples and perspectives amongst all children, families and community members using the five dimensions of reconciliation, race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity and historical acceptance.
